about

This song is about self deprecation. It's considering yourself to be a monster, someone unworthy of love and warmth from another human being. It's losely based on a poem written by Kayleigh when she was 16.
Musically, It uses a 'metal' edge, to darken a more straight forward rock song. It's dual vocals and aggressive back up vocals make it a little bit like Beauty and the Beast.

lyrics

I've nothing to offer but anguish and torture,
but you keep running back here
Falling to your knees, you ask the question :
"Why can't you just let this happen?"
And no matter how hard I try,
These are the hardest words to find -

Don't stay with me,
I'll wreck you from the inside out
Don't stay with me,
I'm a monster, and I'm gonna tear you down.

I've tried resisting but each kiss on my skin
Clouds my better judgement.
But the more that you assault my senses,
The more I'm aware of my weakness.
And I know now that the kindest way
Is to face my demons and say -

Don't stay with me,
I'll wreck you from the inside out
Don't stay with me,
I'm a monster, and I'm gonna tear you down.
